About Teri McCallum
Hippies, yogis, and tree huggers are what I thought of when I first heard "essential oils."
My granola journey started "accidentally" when my daughter's preschool teacher introduced me to the Thieves Household Cleaner.
At that time I was addicted to the "fresh scent" of chemicals and highly-toxic cleaning products as well as numerous over-the-counter drugs to combat all my respiratory and women's issues. (Related in any way? Hmmmmmm.) Falling in love with this amazing product was easy. I also felt good that I was doing something healthy for my family.
I often chuckle at how late I was to the party of fully embracing the granola way of life. Throughout my life I was conditioned to the normal procedure when you get sick (in my case that was ALL the time): you go to the doctor and you take medicines to get better. What else could there be? After being invited to attend some essential oil classes I began to realize that essential oils do more than "just smell good."
As a self-proclaimed nerd and skeptic I HAD to understand the whys and hows of essential oils. I needed solid, concrete science and evidence for all this "hippie stuff." After burying my nose in books and USING the essential oils I was completely in awe. Over time my family's health took a dramatic turn...for the better. To be honest, it was shocking to me but once I experienced such an unexpected 180-degree turn there was no stopping my new-found passion to tell anybody and everybody who would listen to me about the benefits of essential oils.
It took some time at first (and I'm still working on it) but the "granola life" is what I believe is the best kind to live. I shave my underarms and legs, I don't have dreads, and I wouldn't say I'm a flower child, but I love getting back to basics. I love and am grateful for all the amazing things God has created and given to us to use.
The McCallum Family
To the best of my ability, I try to be environmentally conscious and a good steward of our many blessings. Being born and raised on a dairy farm in Upstate New York has helped me to appreciate the value of good, honest living, a solid work ethic and have the utmost respect for farmers. This is why I love Young Living and Gary Young so much.
People who know me know that I can't sit still for very long, and I have an insatiable desire for being purposeful and productive. If I'm not making someone else's life better or happier, then I am feeling useless. Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would be on a mission to teach others how to live a more granola life. But here I am, and I'm absolutely loving every single moment of it. It's my passion, purpose and legacy! I hope you will join me on this adventurous journey toward a life of health and wellness using natural remedies.... a.k.a: living the granola life.
